Service Projects

When the opportunity arises for the entire school or specific classes to participate in a project, the students and staff are ready! We want to be a blessing in our communities and the world around us.

Food Bank Project

Service Project

Mrs. Stephenson’s 5th and 6th graders went to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank for a FLeX service project tied to their novel studies. One theme threaded through the various novels was of food scarcity/insecurity. Our students brought some of their favorite food items to donate, which amounted to 32 lbs of food. They spent the morning in the cold food prep area bagging bulk cooked sausage into smaller bags for distribution. A total of 700 lbs of sausage was processed for the Food Bank! They also toured the facility and the Cedar Valley Food Pantry. The students were blessed to see how their efforts of real work met real needs for real people.

"Happy birthday, Jesus!" Party

Service Project

Students collected activities, comfort items, special treats, personal care, and monetary donations for those from our local churches who may need extra cheer and hope during this challenging year of the pandemic. The goal was to teach our students compassion and to share God’s hope with others. Items collected went into Hope Totes that were delivered to those who may not be able to get out and do the things they enjoy.
